When I went for my first service I was told by the staff that the
Warranty period for Persona is 2 years and not 5 years. But according to
Alldisc its 5 years for his Persona. Can somebody please confirm this????

Alldisc said,"I face same problem since february 2008, but as the car has
5 years warranty, i just want to wait until some other parts koyak also.
then claim all one shot."

patsona, for the 5 years warranty period only if you buy the policy with
extended warranty, otherwise is 2 years warranty or 50,000KM whichever
come 1st.... ,many people don't know about this because sales person
never explain this to the customers, so usually customers carrying a
backup that their car have 5 years warranty, please do check with the
sales person incharge, but extended warranty only for engine and gearbox
told by sales person, because I never take that extended warranty
package, if engine "KONG", Mivec is waiting already...muahahaha just
joking....

Hi Alantieng, thanks for the clarification regarding the 5 year
warranty.I believe most Persona owners were told by their sales persons
that Persona has 5 years warranty. A sales gimmick to get more people to
buy.I feel owners should call up their salesmen and give them a good
firing for misleading them. Has anybody so far opted for the 5 year
warranty? How much does it cost to buy the extended policy and can we do
it 2 years later?? Wonder whether is worth extending to 5 years
warranty?? Any suggestions,please??

what i know is the warranty for persona is for 5 years. no need to
purchase any extension except on 3 conditions

1. maintain servicing at proton dealers. if cannot do every 5,000km at
least every 10,000km. worst come to worst, every major service come back
to proton.

2. no modifications

3. in the first 2 years every part replaced under warranty is free. but
during 3rd to 5th year, owner must pay RM400 for each claim. meaning if
wheel bearing failure cost RM120, its better if we repair ourselves. but
in case gearbox kong cost 20,000, then we only need to pay RM400.

other companies like NazaKia have a separate warranty coverage under
collabaration with insurance companies like COmmerce Insurance. this
extension we need to purchase otherwise after 2 years the warranty
expires.

for proton persona - its 5 years or 175,000km - the warranty comes from
Proton the manufacturer itself.

well was told 2 yrs by Proton and 3 yrs by insurance. now I donno its
proton that paid for insurance coverage or its our own insurance when buy
car. if so what happens if you change insurance company by 2nd yr? will
that void the last 3yrs warranty?

I was informed by Proton I-Care personnel that there is no other way to
install accessories without warranty become void. Even when the items were
original proton's (e.g alloy wheels, speakers etc) and it is done by PESC
or authorised SC. Is this true?.

Other thing is, where can I buy the original sound proof material/cover for
the boot?
