To one Mr John working as a senior clerk in down town London, earning 3000 Euro per month, the price means he can buy it with the next pay cheque if he can bring himself to endure 'maggi mee' run the following month. smile_clown.gif

Balee,

Quite true! There the buying decision for run of the mill commuters or scooters are as negligible, only so much, as sparing some loose change from your beer money. Here in bolehsia, buying a bike is still a calculated move that will throw your whole budget off balance with hefty repayments & high interests if u're not careful!! Haven't even factored in maintenance & depreciation issues yet!!

I heard from Mega Fortune at BM, the RV250 has just launched in KL this morning. I also saw the actual bike in their assembly plant at BM, they have almost 30 units ready after assembly will be delivered to the shops for display starting next Monday.

According to the salesman, it is priced at RM17300. For first 100 orders, the price is RM17000, and if pay cash, it is RM16800. If order now, can be delivered before Raya as I was told.

The outlook is exactly the same like the VTS200 except the front with dual head-light, there is 1 back rest included. Only 2 colours available for that 30 units, Black and Grey (looks like dark Silver).

Well, it is firmed that we won't be getting anything near to RM13k.

So guys you know what you should do about it...Dont tell me after this, that you dont mind paying extra 8k for the Front Dual Head Light, EFI engine and a Back Rest.

Fyi, the Back Rest can be install to our VTS200/GTS200. Just wait for the accessories arrived soon with the SYMPHONY 250i. Heheheheheh

Cheers!!!
Uhh lalaaaaaaa....

One of major qualms, i had from day 1 since i got my GTS, has always been, what i've felt to be overly soft front suspensions which are prone to dive when braked hard, allowing for little correction (another reason why i like Vespas for its legendary anti dive front forks! Vespas enthusiasts even swear the front rises when braked hard. Must be darn weird feeling!!) Coming back to GTS, maybe the front forks settings tendency to dive are considered normal given that the GTS is a heavy bike (and that it's no sports bike!), plus the fact that i'm no feather weight myself, tipping the scales at 83kg!! Hahaha!

I find the rear absorbers a tad too harsh for my liking & has the tendency to bounce over uneven gravelly patches of road. I've been eyeing with interest the YSS absorbers but 700 is no mean sum to pay. Heard that it can be bought cheaper? But where? Pls advice.

Taking your heft into account, did you increase the spring preload?
This will help as the sag , and subsequent compression stroke will be better moderated by the standard absorber.
I found it tracks better too, by increasing just 1 notch. My weight is only 65 kg tho.
Lose weight HOW? ask me NOW !
Stay young and active with BiHRT.
Facial Rejuvenation with PRP.

Klimal,

Thanks for the tip, i think the next time i take my bike to the shops i'll have them increase it by a notch. Hopefully this will address the sag or bottoming out feeling when the road is uneven or undulating. But is there anything that i can do for the front shocks? Was told if i have the oil level adjusted i can improve its 'hardness' thereby reducing dive. But wonder if i do so it'll affect the straight line handling or cornering dynamics.

Sigh. What more to say here? But i salute the 30 (or 29 minus one!!) guys who committed themselves to the pledge and did not flinch or waver, even when under great pressure or duress, as the exercise raised more than a few skeptical or hostile reactions! I salute u all! smile_thumbup.gif smile_thumbup.gif smile_thumbup.gif

THE 29 WHO DARED!!! GIVE YOURSELF A ROUND OF APPLAUSE!

Sometimes it is not in the winning, but having the convictions to make a stand for your beliefs, even if u know u cannot affect the outcome! 29 to enlist in a forum is no mean achievement in itself considering it is only confined to this thread alone. I think we have made our point gentlemen! BRAVO!

We pledge not to buy the SYM GTS/VTS 250 if its price exceeds RM13k OTR!

indotolok..I was told by my mechanic here in Nilai that its better to keep the stock suspensions as they're already doing a great job albeit a fantastic one. After riding the GTS for about 1 mth plus, I tend to agree with him. Unless you have extra cash to burn, changing to YSS absorbers might give you some added improvement. I googled and found out that it could cost you less than RM700. Check it out a sample at 88db here http://my.88db.com/m.../?PostID=116502

Personally, I would go for the tires first. wink.gif

Dear Mizuan
It look different with the YSS E-Lite Absorber. I do not know weather it fit into our GTS. There is two type of YSS Absorber. E-Lite and Pro.

Has anyone try it on?
