The Autoworld SMS Handphone Verification System started on 1st September 2005. It is one of our latest effort to introduce more value added services to all our members in our objective to create a more trusted Autoworld community.
As at 15th September 2005, it is compulsory for Registered Members to first verify their handphone numbers before they can perform the following at Autoworld's website:
1. Posting of used car classified
2. Posting of bikes and other vehicles
3. Posting of accessories.
Registered members who are not "Verified" can still use the following services:-
1. Participating in the forum
2. Sharing of pictures and thoughts at our Community section.
However, we will improve our services in the future and allow "Verified" members more benefits and value add.
Please read some of the frequently asked questions (FAQ) below on this newly launched service.
How Do I Verify My Handphone?
IMPORTANT: Please make sure your current handphone number is the same as the one you have registered with Autoworld. If the handphone number is not the same,
please update at
your Autoworld MyAccount / Member's page to the correct
mobile number field before you start the handphone verification process below.
Our system will then check against the Autoworld registration database, to match the handphone number upon request. If it does not match, members will NOT be able to verify their Userid.
Sending Request via your Handphone:

How Do I Know I have Completed My Handphone Verification?

What If I don't receive the verification code in
more than 12 hours ?
Certain mobile operator line may delay the message sending.
If you do not receive it, please
do not resend the request. Wait for at least an hour.
If it still do not arrive, please email your problem to
hpv@autoworld.com.my,
we will to check and resend to you. Or else, you can try to
call us at this number : 603-2176 0309.
What these two new icons mean?

- This user has verified his handphone number (You should be able
to contact him unless user turns handphone off or is out of coverage area)

- This user might have changed his handphone number and have not
verified the new number - Please be cautious.
Where will these two new icons appear?
Currently, they can be seen at the Member Directory and at the member's MyAccount page. We will consider putting it into the Forum, Used Car or other sections in the near future. Icon will appear beside the member's UserID.
What are your benefits as a member?
For the first 4 months of the launching date of this
service, Autoworld will run Lucky Draws for all who have
successfully verified their accounts. More information of the

Sept 2005, only Handphone Verified Member can use the

How much does it cost to verify my handphone?
- Standard charge from telco to send SMS messages applies when you send request for Activation code to 36006. (Step 3)
- Additional one-time charge of RM2.00 applies upon delivery of the code.
Will you refund me if I make mistake in sending
the request?
No, we do not refund as all money charged by telco
will not be refunded to us. Please make sure you do not
make the mistake. Error messages generated by Autoworld will be charged RM0.30 and will not be refunded.
I get the following message reply: 'Autoworld Handphone Verification: Invalid handphone format. Pls update at website & try again. This
SMS RM0.30'. What does it mean?
This is because the Mobile Number column is not filled in your Autoworld account. You may have
entered the number into the House Phone column instead. Kindly login
to your Autoworld.com.my with userid and password again, go to the
Member's myAccount page, and update your registration details first
before requesting for the code again using your handphone. Please read the "IMPORTANT MESSAGE" above in 'How Do I Verify My Handphone?' FAQ above.
Do I have to verify my handphone number each time I change
it?
Yes, every time you change your mobile number, you have
to update the MyAccount registration details page, and repeat Step 1 above. You will not be able to
use our services for a short while till you have completed your mobile
number verification. We need to make sure you are contactable
before you can start posting classifieds at our website.
What if the phone number I am using had been
used by someone in your site before?
Don't worry, send a request to hpv@autoworld.com.my
requesting us to check who the previous owner is. If their
account were suspended, we need to verify your account
before you can start posting. If his account is still active,
we will query the existing number to find out more
before we can get back to you.
I am not an Autoworld member. How do I verify and be eligible for your Lucky Draws?
The handphone number verification is only for Autoworld members. You just need to register with us as a member, and once you have activated your account, you may then proceed to verify your number.
Can I access the forum even I am not Handphone verified?
Yes, you still can at this time.
Hey, is this all you gonna do for us?
No, this is just the 1st phase (to improve the quality
of all sign up members). We will introduce more services
to all members in future.
